BMW plans to go live with its three new models at the 2011 North American International Auto Show in subsequent month at the Cobo Hall in Detroit. These three model consist of the new 6-Series Convertible, the edgy 1-Series M Coupe and the standard 1-Series to consist of the Coupe and Convertible.
We already had the opportunity to see these vehicles in paper, so there will not be any surprises as these cars go live. In even more detail, the initial version of the next generation 6-Series sports car will be the Convertible, which will launch as the 650i. It is outfitted with a 400HP 4.4-liter turbocharged V8 engine that is connected to either a six-speed manual or an 8-speed automatic transmission. The new BMW 650i Convertible is expected to go on sale around the spring of 2011 in U.S. and the Coupe model will follow later.
Subsequent in lineup is the enhanced 1 Series M Coupe featuring a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine producing 335 horsepower. Power is shifted through a 6-speed manual transmission. The new 1 Series M Coupe will be available in limited quantities by next spring.
Lastly, the 2011 1 Series Coupe and Convertible get a revision with some refined styling changes and interior enhancements, and keeping the identical equipment. These cars will go on sale in spring of 2011.
