After nearly a decade, a final product of the McLaren MP4-12C street version is available for the market. McLaren has officially priced the MP4-12C at $229,000.
Although the price of the McLaren MP4-12C is a bit steep for most people, it is still a competitive price when compared with the Ferrari 458 and Lamborghini Gallardo LP-570-4’s prices, $225,000 and $237,00, respectively.
The McLaren MP4-12C is built on carbon-fiber tubes and received many comfortable enhancements over its predecessor, the McLaren F1. The new 2011 McLaren LP4-12C supercar gets its power from the M838T 3.8-liter V8 twin-turbo engine, which produces around 600 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque. Zero to 60 mph is about 3.2 seconds with a 7-speed Seamless Shift dual-clutch transmission. Top speed of the McLaren LP4-12C is at around 200 mph, and with expected quarter mile in approximately 11 seconds.
In addition, McLaren plans to offer a few upgrades to the MP4-12C, which will include lightweight wheels and bespoke paint to a three-camera interior recording system.
