Aston Martin will not be lacking behind, it turned up the heat on its 2012 V8 Vantage S model. Although the V8 Vantage S model carried the same 4.7-liter V8 engine, Aston Martin managed to squeeze more juice out of this V8 engine. It is now produced 430 horsepower and 361 pound-feet of torque.

The tuned V8 engine is coupled to a modified version of the seven-speed SportShift II transmission, which comes with seven short ratio gears to deliver intensive driving involvement. Just hope that it doesn’t jolt your head too much with such a short shift. The Vantage S also comes with a ‘Sport’ button which quickens the gear changes and gives the driver a more aggressive throttle response while also opening the exhaust bypass valves across most of the engine speed range.

“The Vantage S epitomises every attribute of the V8 Vantage and pushes the driver experience beyond what we have offered before,” says Dr. Ulrich Bez, CEO of Aston Martin, “It combines dynamic exhilaration with all the charming finesse, beauty and practicality already associated with the Vantage range.”

In addition to the engine tune-up, Aston Martin also added a quicker steering rack, huge rotors and six-piston calipers in the front end, new springs and dampers, and 19-inch wider rear wheels to complete the chasis revisions.

The Vantage S is greatly inspired by the 2011 Vantage GT4 race car with rigid bonded aluminum chassis and roll cage. On the exterior, Aston Marting also added the V12 Vantage appearance package that is available on the coupe and Roadster.

The 2012 Aston Martin V8 Vantage S is currently available to order from Aston Martin dealerships.
