2012 Cadillac SRX to be equipped with tweaked 3.6-liter V6 engine

Earlier reports have suggested that General Motors is putting the Cadillac SRX Turbo out to pasture, but what to replace the outgoing turbo engine?

Today GM Inside News states that it will be equipping the 2012 SRX with the 3.6-liter V6 engine found in the current CTS sedan.

As we can see that the bigger displacement 3.6-liter engine will definitely produce more horsepower, and GM claims that it’s more powerful than the outgoing turbocharged 2.8-liter V6 engine. GM had tweaked the engine a bit to produce more power as well as improve overall fuel efficiency in the 2012 Cadillac SRX.

Cadillac called the new tweaked engine as the LFX. The standard 3.6-liter V6 engine produces 304 horsepower in the CTS.
