BMW rolled out the all new design BMW 5 Series Sedan with modern design to give an athletic for sports and at the same time an executive look for business. Â The new 6th generation BMW 5 Series Sedan new design features included longer wheelbase, a long sleek hood, short overhangs, and a coupe-like roof-line to give an aggressive, muscular stance.
The suspension and drivetrain have also tuned for a combination of agile handling for the driver and a high standard of riding comfort for passengers; when equipped with the Sport Package, the new BMW 5 Series Sedan includes Adaptive Drive, which encompasses Driving Dynamics Control, Electronic Damper Control, and Active Roll Stabilization. Optional Integral Active Steering will virtually extend or shorten the vehicle’s wheelbase for improved stability at high speeds and enhanced agility at lower speeds.
The new BMW 5 Series Sedan will be available with one V-8 and one inline-6 gasoline engine. The top-of-the-range BMW 550i arrives with BMW’s “reverse-flow” V-8 engine featuring twin turbochargers and High Precision direct injection for maximum output of 400 hp. The new inline-6 of the BMW 535i features a single twin-scroll turbocharger, High Precision direct injection, and, for the first time, VALVETRONIC throttle-less intake technology. It delivers a maximum output of 300 hp and 300 lb-ft. The 535i and 550i will be available with a choice of 6-speed manual transmission, BMW’s new 8-speed automatic transmission, or new “Sport Automatic” 8-speed. Also, the lower model of  the BMW 528i will have with a 240 hp inline-6 featuring lightweight magnesium-aluminum construction and VALVETRONIC throttle-less intake technology for efficiency and unparalleled responsiveness.
The 550i and 535i feature standard 18 x 8.0 alloy wheels, fitted with 245/45R-18 run-flat all-season tires. The 528i features 17 x 7.0 alloy wheels with 225/55R-17 run-flat all-season tires. Optional equipment includes BMW Parking Assisant to help steer into those tight space parking lots.

BMW is introducing the new BMW 5 Series Sedan in 2010. Â The 2010 BMW 5 Series was designed with supreme aesthetics and superior dynamics come together with exemplary efficiency, outstanding comfort and uncompromising premium quality. The new Sedan not only combines all these features in truly convincing style, but also offers unmistakable character ensured by smooth interaction of design, driving characteristics and function all working in perfect harmony.
So what is offered in the new 2010 BMW 5 Series? Â The new BMW 5 Series comes with all the new technology goodies. Â In order to refine driving efficient dynamics, aluminum was used to doors, compartment lid, and front side panels with low friction tires. Â An eight-speed automatic transmission is used to deliver smooth linear power to the rear wheels. Â Other additions include brake energy regeneration, auto-start-stop function gearshift point indicator, on-demand electric power steering, and active air flap control.
The new 2010 BMW 5-Series will come in 6 trims: 523i, 528i, 535i, 550i, 525d, and 530d. Â All these 6 trims are come with different engine grades, with the “d” stands for diesel. The 535i model has a power output of 306 horsepower and 300 lb-feet of torque, and 530d has 245 horsepower and 335 lb-feet torque. BMW also offers the 4.4-liter twin turbocharged V8 engine that makes about 400 horsepower around 6200 rpm and 450 lb-feet of torque around 4400 rpm. The BMW 6-cylinder engine can blast through 0-60 mph within 6 second range while the V8 can do it in the 5 second range. BMW will also introduce the 528i, which will be powered by a smaller v6 displacement engine that has an output of 240 horsepower. Â The diesel power version of the 2010 BMW 5-Series will not be available in the U.S. yet.
What is so advance about this new 2010 BMW 5 Series is the BMW Connected Drive; it let you monitor everything from safety to entertainment at just a glance. Â The driver assistance systems offered for the first time in the context of BMW ConnectedDrive include a Parking Assistant, Surround View, collision warning with application of the brakes in conjunction with Active Cruise Control plus Stop & Go, and a new Speed Limit Device. Further features also available are Lane Change Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Speed Limit Info, a Head-Up Display, BMW Night Vision with detection of individual persons, and a back-up camera.
The 2009 BMW 5 Series has agile and secure handling, and the ride is quiet, but it was plagued with not been a reliable car. Â Not only that, the IIHS side-crash test is also disappointing. Â Hopefully, the new 2010 BMW 5-Series corrected those problems.
