Who said that the horse race is over? The new Koenigsegg Agera R supercar is packing a big punch at an outrageous 1,115 horsepower and 885 pound-feet of torque from its 5.0-liter turbo V8 engine when runs on E85 fuel.
But when the Koenisegg Agera R supercar runs on 95-octane fuel, it only produces 940 horsepower and 811 pound-feet of torque.
The Koenigsegg Agera R supercar is built with a carbon fiber monocoque body to provide maximum rigidity and light weight; it is so structurally sound that it doesn’t require an attached roof, which enables the roof as a removable panel that can be stored away.
Koenigsegg hasn’t published the performance numbers for the Agera R yet but from the rated tires at 260 mph and similar body structure and horsepower range as the Hennessey Venom, we expect that its 0-60 mph time to be around 2.5 seconds and with a top speed around 250 mph on a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
The Koenigsegg Agera R will make its debut at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show next week wearing a Speed Racer paint scheme that is customizable to a customer’s taste. With horsepower beyond one thousand ponies, owners will have to take a driving lesson to able to operate this supercar. Stay tuned, we’ll have more definite details coming up.
