General Motors today gave us a peek of the next-generation 2012 Chevrolet Colorado mid-size pickup truck, which will make its debut at the 32nd Bangkok International Motor Show from March 25th to April 5th.
The reason GM decided to debut the 2012 Chevrolet Colorado in Thailand was due to the fact that people in Thailand are buying pickups at an increasing rate, which is accounted for 43 percent of vehicles sold in Thailand in 2010.
“Thailand was chosen as the site of the global debut because of the popularity of pickup trucks and the growing importance of the Thai market to Chevrolet,” a GM press release says. “In 2010, the pickup truck segment alone accounted for 43% of vehicles sold in Thailand. The new Colorado will go on sale in Thailand later this year.”
The 2012 Chevrolet Colorado will be built at a GM plant in Thailand for global markets, but it is expected to expand over to U.S. and Canada under the Colorado/Canyon name plate. More information on the 2012 Chevrolet Colorado mid-size pickup truck will be revealed at the global premiere.
