Just as expected, after the Geneva Motor Show last week, Honda is releasing full details and pricing of the 2012 Acura TL. Although Honda made a dramatic appearance of the 2012 Acura TL, but we see only subtle changes made throughout. We do see a bit of changes to the front end and rear end with updated headlamps, tail lamps and new fog lights.
Perhaps the most significant changes we see noticed is the new Sequential SportShift 6-speed automatic transmissioin, while the engine options remain the same with the old 280-hp V6 engine for the front-wheel drive model and 305-hp V6 engine for the all-wheel-drive model. Honda claims that fuel economy has improved by 3 mpg, which now up to 29 mpg highway.
The 2012 Acura TL will be offered in three trims. Starting with the base front-wheel drive model, it starts at $35,605, which comes with a 280-hp V6 mated up to a Sequential SportShift 6-speed automatic transmision. Then the Acura TL SH-AWD model starts at $39,155, which comes with a 305-hp V6 engine and all-wheel-drive system. And finally, the Acura TL SH-AWD with a six-speed manual gearbox, it starts at $42,885.
All trims of the 2012 Acura TL are available with optional packages such as Technology Package that includes a navigation system and a 440-watt audio system, and the Advance Package that has ventilated front seat, larger wheels and blind sport information system.
Overall, the 2012 Acura TL looks similar to previous year model but with a bit of refinement.
