2012 Lexus LF-Gh concept to unveil at New York Auto Show

Lexus plans to officially unveil its new LF-Gh prototype at the New York Auto Show on April 19th. The Lexus LF-Gh hybrid concept will represent the future of Lexus design. But what we can tell you that in term of design look, it is similar to the 2009 GS 450h model with a slightly revised face-lift.

The Lexus LF-Gh will be based on the fourth generation Lexus GS, which will share much of the new mechanic and electronic features found on the new generation Lexus IS. To provide ample passenger space and more cargo capacity, the Lexus LF-Gh hybrid concept will have a longer wheelbase than previous generation model.

As for the powertrain department of the Lexus LF-Gh, the proposal was to have a 4-cylinder engine couples to an electric motor (or motors.) Will it be underpowered compare to other vehicles in its class? We will have to see more details of the power output of these electric motors. There is a balance act in place when choosing these electric motors; too much power output from these motors would need more gas to generate electricity, and that doesn’t go well with the fuel efficiency rating.

Stay tuned, we have more details when it comes out to the New York Auto Show this April.
