Hyundai introduced the all-new 2011 Sonata at the Los Angeles Auto Show just a few days ago. This is the latest version of the popular midsize sedan for North American with Hyundai’s “Fluidic Sculpture” design language and an all four-cylinder engine lineup to the U.S. market.  Production begins at Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama in December with retail sales beginning in January.

The new 2011 Hyundai Sonata with the all new Theta II 2.4 gasoline direct injection four-cylinder engine  that is mated to a six speed automatic transmission.  The new direct injection engine is expected to deliver 23 mpg city/35 mpg highway with 198 horsepower.  There is also a 2.0-liter Theta II turbocharged GDI four-cylinder engine and Hybrid Blue Drive models to debut by 2010 year-end.  Other additional features include XM Satellite Radio, real-time XM NavTraffic, XM Data Services, HD Radio Technology, Bluetooth, Touch-screen navigation and iPod/USB inputs.

The 2011 Sonata represents a modern approach to the traditional midsize sedans by using smaller four-cylinder engines as to six-cylinder and 8-cylinder engines. The sleek, luxury design, combined with Hyundai’s expertise in interior packaging, has produced an interior that delivers class-leading comfort, functionality and practicality.

    why do hyundai copy other car makers soo much. ex. the navigation buttons are from Infiniti, the design is from the mercedes CLS, the climate controls are from Volvo and so on and so forth. This is a fact, if you wanna go research go ahead. this just proves these cars are garbage.

    @kentau123
    Yes and the japanese copied all from germans. So what?

    Say what you want, but I just bought one of these (2011 Sonata SE in harbor gray) and I love it. It looks great, drives like a dream, was loaded with goodies like Bluetooth and XM, and was a great value.

    Technology used first elsewhere? Uh… yeah. Pretty sure even the WHEEL was quite a while back yet everyone seems to have it.

    If you want a great value that looks nice, drives fun, and doesn’t look like the southbound end of a northbound horse, you can’t go wrong with the new Sonata!

    @kentau123 yes, Hyundai had used Misutbushi technology, but they paid a loyalty for Misutubushi engine that ironically was came from EUROPE AND USA first! you Carrot Cabage. this is it ? what you tried to answer the origin of tech?

    too many slants and curves in the design, which remains controversial. a lot of the styling is replicated from its so-called competitors, something that hyundai needs to avoid. it is simply overrated.
