Just as expected from the leaked photos a few days ago, BMW officially unveiled its 2012 BMW M5 ahead of the 2011 Shanghai Auto Show in China. From these officiall photos, the M5 Concept is in its complete production-ready form.
BMW released these images but did not reveal any info about the performance numbers of the 2012 M5, but we already knew from the leaked info that it will carry a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 with 578 hp and 535 lb-ft of peak torque. We will just leave those numbers there for now.
Continue on with the look of the new 2012 BMW M5, its appearance is a typical M style with a front bumper, side gills on the front fenders, a new rear bumper with an integrated diffuser that houses twin tailpipes, and a thin boot lid spoiler.
In addition, BMW revealed a bit of information on the suspension. The new 2012 M5 will include distinctive M suspension components such as the inter alia, the wheel suspension systems, specific axle kinematics along with bigger, light-weight brakes. A new Active M Differential that optimizes vehicle stability using targeted variation of locking torque between the right and left drive wheels, plus 20-inch forged alloy wheels wrapped in 265/35 ZR20 tires at the front and 265/35 ZR20 tires at the rear. BMW still keeps quite on the interior, and it saves that until the Shanghai Auto Show.
