2011 BMW Z4 GT3 racer comes with shift paddles and more aerodynamic

Although it has been only a year since BMW Motorsports launched the 2010 BMW Z4 GT3 racer, but since its winning of the Dubai 24 Hours in January 2011, BMW just released a new and improved 2011 Z4 GT3 racer.

BMW Motorsports says that the newest modifications was primarily to enhance aerodynamic efficiency to be able to make sure the car’s competitiveness within the GT3 classes.

BMW only fine-tuned the aerodynamics of the Z4 GT3 for the new season, while improving the 4.4-liter V8 engine’s electronic system as well. The new 2011 Z4 GT3 racer continues to use the same six-speed sequential gearbox,  but this time, it uses two shift paddles as a mean to change gears. The change to shift paddles help reduce driver’s fatigue and faster shifting response time.

In recent weeks, there have been a series of rigorous tests on the new 2011 Z4 GT3, and now, BMW is ready to offer it to takers. The improved 2011 Z4 GT3 is priced at€315,000 Euros (plus VAT), which is about US $454,000.
