MINI Goodwood is luxurious as a Rolls-Royce

Want a taste of a Roll-Royce? BMW got the good on its new MINI. It just revealed the MINI inspired by Goodwood before its world debut at the 2011 Auto Shanghai 2011. The MINI inspired by Goodwood is a limited-run special edition of which only 1,000 units will be produced for this luxury edition.

The exterior and interior style is inspired by high-quality materials and the British luxury car marque’s dedication to totally exquisite craftsmanship.

Like most Rolls-Royce cars, the MINI Goodwood’s interior is decorated with a unified color concept, selected materials and a production quality characterized by precise workmanship ensure the best level of well-being and luxury. Everything in the interior is boasted with exclusive Rolls-Royce color Cornsilk, a warm and natural shade of beige. Just the upper portion of the instrument panel is lined with soft full-grain black leather. And the dashboard and door handles are finished in Walnut Burr wood along with everything else in either veneer or Piano Black surface finishes.

The two of the most noticeable exterior features are the body surface finish in the unique Rolls-Royce color Diamond Black metallic and 17-inch light alloy wheels sporting a multi-spoke design exclusive just for this MINI.

As for the powertrain, the MINI Goodwood is powered by a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that is found in the 2011 MINI Cooper S, which features a Twin Scroll turbocharger, direct injection and variable valve control. The turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine produces 181 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque, which can be boosted to 192 lb-ft using the Overboost function. The engine is mated to a standard six-speed manual gearbox, and a six-speed automatic can be ordered as an option.

The 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine provides exceptional low fuel consumption and emissions. It has EPA fuel economy ratings of 35 mpg highway, 27 mpg city, and 30 mpg combined when equipped with a manual transmission.

The MINI inspired Goodwood will be available in spring of 2012, and for sure, this little bugger won’t be cheap.
