Ford has announced a massive recall of about 1.2 million units of the F-150 pickup truck sold in the U.S. This recall action follows when Ford agreed in February to recall more than 150,000 F-150 trucks built between 2004 and 2006 for faulty airbag deployment.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, it states that a wiring fault could cause the airbag warning lamp to turn on and the airbag to deploy. In addition, there are about 269 cases of this incident had caused injuries to 98 people, and some of those injuries were serious.

Ford will notify customers in May to bring their cars to dealers, which will replace an airbag wire in the steering wheel in affected vehicles. But you don’t have to wait for the notification, you can bring in your affected pickup truck to any Ford dealership for a repair at no cost.
