2011 Ford Taurus Police Interceptor-6

The 2013 Ford Taurus just got a revised look and upgraded horsepower, and you know what that means to the police car lineup. According to Derrick Kuzak, Ford product manager, says the Taurus Police Interceptor will get the 2013 model as well.

From what we reported last week, the new 2013 Ford Taurus gets new LED taillights and new front fascia and rear bumper. The Taurus Police Interceptor will replace the Crown Victoria Police Interceptor by the end of 2011.

Not only the 2013 Ford Taurus Interceptor will get the new look, it will receive new powertrain options as well. While the revised 290-hp 3.5-liter V6 (27 hp up from previous version) will come as standard, municipalities that are skimming on gasoline cost can choose the EcoBoost 2.0-liter turbo with fuel economy rating of 31 miles per gallon. And there is also an option for the V6-powered EcoBoost Taurus SHO producing 365 horsepower.

We are not sure that if the police will get the EcoBoost 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo, and that has hardly been the case. But in this economy, municipalities may consider that as an option.
