The Opel Astra GTC has been in the works for quite a while now, and General Motors’ Opel division just unleashed a rendering art work of the car that seem realistic enough. From the video, it may be the production model of the new 2012 Opel Astra GTC that we will get to see the real deal very soon at the Frankfurt Motor Show on September 15.
The new three-door hatchback 2012 Opel Astra GTC is much more streamlined than its predecessor. From what we can see from these rendering photos and video, the new 2012 Opel Astra GTC stays near to its concept model that was debut at the Paris Motor Show last year. We only see a small difference in the round fog lamp housings in the front bumper instead of the LED strips found in the concept model.
Under the hood of the 2012 Astra GTC, we will find both petrol and diesel engines that are similar in the five-door model. It includes eight fuel-efficient gasoline and diesel engines, ranging from 95 hp to 180 hp. Adding to the mix is a new 1.4-liter turbo gasoline engine producing 120 hp that is mated to a six-speed manual transmission. And along with a 140 hp version of the 1.4 Turbo engine is also available with a six-speed automatic transmission. Lastly is the top performance engine of the 2.0 CDTI engine. This diesel engine produces 160 hp and mated to a six-speed manual gearbox.
The 2012 Opel Astra GTC will begin accepting orders this summer, and it is expected to deliver by fall. Meanwhile, check out the rendering video below.
