Cadillac had significantly changed its brand image over the past few years, and to the extend that its style is now more luxurious refined as well as aggressive performance along with better build quality. With that, there is a rumor circulating the Net that Cadillac is planning to build a complete new vehicle to compete against the BMW 7 Series, Mercedes-Benz S-Class, and Audi A8.

It is going to be a steep hill to climb, but with the recently Cadillac CTS-V performance that proved itself to be the world’s fastest production sedan around the Nurbrugring, we think Cadillac has a good shot at it.

The new Cadillac sedan will be a rear-wheel drive on the new Omega platform. Cadillac plans to power it with a range of engines, from a V6 engine to a  supercharged V8 engine. And an all-wheel drive will be offered as an option as well.

And there is another rumor that GM is contemplating a much more exhilarating use of the Omega platform, and that is to build a super-luxury sedan to compete with the Rolls Royce Phantom. Hey, why not? After all, America is the land of ingenuity. The new Cadillac flagship will be launched somewhere in 2014, and it is expected a hybrid version would follow later along a with diesel version for Europe.
