Kia plans to unleash the new 2012 Kia Sorento that will be available with a new GDI direct-injection four-cylinder engine and along with the hands-free UVO infotainment system, but the exterior appearance remains the same with a few minor upgrades.
Most of the optional improvements are in the interior, which include Kia’s YES Essential seat treatment that has resistant to stains, static electricity and anti-bacterial chemical. There is also an optional three-position heated switch and updated interior illumination to round out the interior improvement.
The major improvement for the 2012 Kia Sorento is the new 2.4-liter engine with Theta II architecture. It produces about 200 horsepower compared to the outgoing engine at 175 horsepower.
The 2011 Kia Sorento is one of the most comfortable-riding midsize crossovers available, and it’s also an IIHS “Top Safety Pick.” With no changes to the structure, we expect the 2012 Kia Sorento to have the same qualities. The 2012 Kia Sorento is already being sold at dealerships.
