In celebration of Nissan’s global racing heritage and 40 years of Z in the UK since its birth in 1970, Nissan introduces the new 370Z GT Edition. The Nissan 370Z GT Edition is available to order from dealerships in the UK with a starting price of £35,000, and it is expected for first deliveries from June 1, 2011. Too bad that the 370Z GT Edition will be available only in Europe at the moment, and there is no hint that it will be offered elsewhere.
The Nissan 370Z GT Edition features unique GT stripes running down the rocker panel. In addition, darkened 19-inch Rays forged alloy wheels and a few suspension tweaks to enhance ride comfort and high-speed handling. The chassis has been re-tuned to provide a balance between ride comfort and high-speed handling, and along with sound insulation material added to the underbody due to complaint of excessive noise from customers.
On the equipment feature changes, the 370Z GT Edition gets the rear view parking camera as part of the Premium Connect satellite navigation system, and a tire pressure monitoring system. In addition, the optional seven-speed automatic now has a new snow mode which starts the car in second gear to minimize the potential for wheelspin.
“The 370Z is an iconic sports car and the GT Edition underlines its appeal to enthusiasts everywhere,” said Pierre Loing, Vice President Product Planning, Nissan International SA. “The combination of outstanding performance and the dramatic looks of this very special 370Z more than lives up to the heritage of its illustrious forebear while its strong links to the race track shows its true pedigree.”
