BMW plans to roll out the BMW 328 Hommage at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este show in Italy this weekend. The 328 Hommage was created to mark the original model’s 75th birthday. The BMW 328 Hommage seems to be based on the Vision ConnectedDrive roadster, which debuted at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show in March.
The BMW 328 Hommage is built with ultra-lightweight materials such as carbon fiber plastic, aluminum and magnesium parts to result in a 1,720 pounds. Numerous design aspects are embraced among the two cars. The first 328 was one of the initial BMW vehicles to signify the double kidney grille design. In the rear, the wide-set tail lamps help seal off the broad stance that extends the length of both versions.
In the interior, the BMW 328 Hommage is designed with a few retro details that accentuates the minimalistic look. The materials used in the interior include carbon fiber, leather and aluminum throughout.
As for the powertrain for the 328 Hommage, BMW did mention of a 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine. Still, no word on the transmission specifications.
