Statis Engineering has launched a new speed package for the Audi S5 Cabriolet in the UK. The Statis Engineering S5 Cabriolet Challenge Edition comes with upgrades in all performance departments, which include a tuned engine, new sports suspension and brakes along with a limited-slip differential.
The Statis Engineering S5 Cabriolet Challenge Edition is powered by a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 engine producing 410 horsepower and 370 lb-feet of torque, which is about 77 horsepower and 26 lb-ft of torque more than the stock Audi S5 Cabriolet. The horsepower and torque gain is due to the reprogammed ECU and a high performance exhaust system that helps the engine breathes easier.
The Statis Engineering claims the Audi S5 Cabriolet Challenge Edition now can sprint from 0-60 mph in just 4.3 seconds, which is about 0.7 second faster than the stock model. But with the extra horsepower, Statis Engeering also added Alcon 6-piston monobloc calipers, 370 mm two-piece front discs, high performance pads and braided stainless steel brake lines to help the S5 Cabriolet Challenge Edition stops on a dime.
In addition, Statis Engineering also utilizes Ohlins SL dampers with two settings to improve handling during spirited driving or ride comfort during cruising speed. The SL dampers alllow the Audi S5 Cabriolet Challenge Edition to adjust at different heights. Last but not least, 20-inch ultra-lightweight forged aluminum wheels wrapped in high performance low profile tires further enhances the ride quality.
The Statis performance components for the Audi S5 Cabriolet can be bought separately or as a package through APS of Brackley and STaSIS dealers in the UK.
