New pictures of the 2012 BMW 1 Series has just leaked onto the Internet before its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The newly redesigned 2012 BMW 1 Series is oddly appeared to be a hatchback instead of a four-door sedan.
Not only it is a hatchback, the 2012 BMW 1 Series gained in size as well. It is expected that the 2012 BMW 1 Series will be powered by a range of four- and six-cylinder turbocharged engines. And these engines will also be equipped with BMW’s Efficient Dynamics technology that includes start/stop system and regenerative braking to improve fuel economy.
So far, no official news that the 2012 BMW 1 Series will be slated for the U.S., but from experience, it is likely so. We’ll have more news in a few days as BMW releases its official documents.
The new 2012 BMW 1 Series leaked onto the Internet yesterday, and earlier this morning, we got more details about the 2012 BMW 1 Series.
Besides the surprising hatchback styling of the new BMW 1 Series, it will be available with a brand new 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline engine producing 136 horsepower on the 116i model and 170 horsepower on the 118i model.
