The 2012 Volkswagen Beetle is still a few months away to be available at VW dealerships, and today, Volkswagen officially revealed the 2012 Volkswagen Beetle Black Turbo Edition that is said to be less cute and more masculine.
With that, Volkswagen called the new Beetle as Black Turbo Launch Edition, which only 600 units will be built for the U.S. customers. The 2012 Volkswagen Beetle Black Turbo Launch Edition is powered by a 2.0-liter TSI inline four-cylinder engine producing 200 horsepower. The engine is mated to a dual-clutch transmission to give the Beetle a quick and smooth acceleration.
Along with the engine upgrade, the 2012 Volkswagen Beetle Black Turbo Launch Edition comes with a set of unique 18-inch alloy wheels, bigger brakes with red calipers, a rear spoiler, and foglights. As for the interior, it includes a tri-color ambient lighting, Bluetooth and iPod connection, eight-speaker sound system, an extra glovebox, aluminum-alloy pedals and sport seats upholstered in cloth.
Currently, the 2012 Volkswagen Beetle Black Turbo Launch Edition is available for pre-order online for a $495 refundable reservation fee that will be applied toward the purchase price of $24,950, plus a $770 destination charge.
