As you may have known about the new 2012 BMW M5 through its recent series of news of concept model, but today, official photos of the production model 2012 BMW M5 just made its way onto the world wide web. BMW has made any official announcement yet, but we are sure to expect a press release will be out in a day or two.
From the photos, the 2012 BMW F10 M5 seems similar to the recent iteration of the concept model. It maintains the same bodywork with its enlarged air intakes in the front fascia, four tailpipes and 20-inch wheels. The result is a much aggressive looking M5 than previous generation M5.
Although we don’t have the official press release yet, by now, it is no secret to the 2012 BMW’s powertrain. It is equipped with a twin-turbocharged V8 engine producing 552 horsepower (at 6,000 rpm) and 501 lb-feet of torque. The V8 engine is mated to a standard dual-clutch transmission that transfers power to the rear-wheels. The 2012 BMW is reported to have an acceleration from 0-60 mph in just 4.4 seconds.
The price of the 2012 BMW M5 is said to be around €100,000 in Germany ($144,000), but as we all know, pricing of cars in Europe is much different than U.S. The actual price of the 2012 BMW M5 will be much lower in the U.S. that is comparable to the 2010 BMW M5, which is currently at $85,700.
