It seems like General Motors is resurrecting the idea of a Buick wagon. Well, certainly it did. We got first glimpse of the 2012 Buick Regal wagon, which is a rebadged Opel Insignia Sports Tourer that has undergone surgery to look more like a Buick.
The 2012 Buick Regal wagon will be powered a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine producing 220 horsepower. Seems like under powered for a wagon, hopefully, we may get the 270-hp 2.0-liter turbocharged engine found in the Regal GS sedan.
According to a GM insider source, the 2012 Buick Regal wagon is set to debut this year at the Los Angeles Auto Show. It would compete with the Acura TSX Sport Wagon and Audi A4 Avant. Just like other station wagons sold in the U.S., the Buick Regal wagon will have a tough hill to climb, and that is to erase the “mom-mobile” name associated with it.
