The new Toyota Prius V hybrid just debuted at the 2011 Australian International Motor Show, and later will go on sale in the US before the end of this year.
The new Toyota Prius V hybrid shares the same platform and Hybrid Synergy Drive system with the current third-generation Prius hatchback. Which means that it’s powered by a 98-hp 1.8-liter gasoline engine and a 60Kw electric motor running on nickel-metal-hydride battery. Fuel consumption for this setup is about 50 miles per gallon.
The Toyota Prius V hybrid is a five-seater, and some might classify it as a hatchback while others as a wagon or mini-van. Whatever the case, the Prius V hybrid is versatile in every way with its dimensions at 182 inches long, 70 inches wide and 62 inches tall. This gives it a large cargo capacity of 59 cubic inches behind the rear seats. All passenger seats can be folded completely flat, adding to the interior versatility.
No pricing or the exact date of launching for the 2012 Toyota Prius V hybrid, but we will keep you posted.
