McLaren has just introduced the initial major changes to its MP4-12C GT3, which was approved in the GT3 racing category. The MP4-12C GT3 race car is scheduled to debut in 2012 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
The McLaren MP4-12C GT3 race car currently undergone testing on the track prior to beginning sales to its twenty customers. The track test results recommend a new cooling system, which consists of a larger, front-mounted radiator to provide optimal heat dissipation from engine. There is also a new aerodynamic package for the MP4-12C GT3, it includes a front splitter, rear wing and carbon fiber rear diffuser.
The MP4-12C GT3 race car shares the same carbon fiber body as the McLaren F1 along with its racing technology. McLaren plans to use the MP4-12C race car’ racing experience to continue refine the MP4-12C street version.
