The highly anticipated Mugen Honda CR-Z Hybrid Concept finally made its official debut at Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK. However, Mugen displayed two concept hybrid models, the “Honda CR-Z MUGEN RR Concept and MUGEN CR-Z Concept.
Starting with the Mugen CR-Z Concept, it is created through as a collaboration between Honda (UK) and MUGEN. It sports a supercharger and IMA system, which provides additional horsepower and torque with a flat power and torque band throughout the rmp to improve drivability on the streets.
With weight saving factor into the equation by using carbon composite material, the Mugen CR-Z Concept able to achieve 0-62 mph time as the same as the in just the Honda Civic Type R. The total power output for the Mugen CR-Z is about 197 horsepower.
And for the Honda CR-Z MUGEN RR Concept, it adopted the “RR” moniker to represent Mugen racing spirit. From the looks, the exterior aero parts are more focused for track use. It comes with unique front aerodynamic bumper, front fender, side spoiler, rear bumper, rear wing, and 18″ wheels.
As for interior, orange color and carbon parts are placed to provide a sense of the racing spirit. Not like the Mugen CR-Z Hybrid Concept, there is no word on the performance numbers yet.
