To celebrate the festivities of the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games in London, BMW is introducing two special edition models of the 2012 BMW 1 Series hatchback and 3 Series sedan. And with the new 2012 BMW 1 Series coupe and sedan models already at the showroom, BMW is also offering the Performance Edition package alone to customers who wish to upgrade their cars.
The Performance Edition package for the 2012 BMW 1 Series hatchback and 3 Series sedan includes: an M aero kit, M Sport suspension, 18-inch black chrome alloy wheels, glossy Shadowline exterior trim, London 2012 badges, and black chrome exhaust tip along with black accented rear lights in the exterior. While the interior features sport seats with Royal Blue stitching, M Sport multi-function leather steering wheel and gearshift leaver.
BMW says that the 1 Series Performance Edition model starts at £19,530 OTR, which includes the performance package’s cost of £1,500. And pricing of the 3 Series sedan with the Performance Edition Package costs only about £500 than the standard version.
Performance wise, 2012 BMW 1 Series hatchback and 3 Series sedan are equipped with the same engine range as the standard version, which includes a new 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline engine producing 136 horsepower on the 116i model and 170 horsepower on the 118i model. In addition, there will be diesel engine options as well, which include a 2.0-liter turbo diesel with 116 hp, 143 hp and 184 hp.
The 2012 BMW 1 Series hatchback and 3 Series sedan Performance Edition are available in four colors: Alpine White, Titanium Silver, Bluewater and Black Sapphire.
