Peugeot plans to expand its hybrid vehicle lineup, and it just revealed the new 2012 Peugeot 508 RXH diesel-electric hybrid before its debut at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show in September. The style of the 508 RXH is unique with its distinguished singular visual signature LED lights and wide-body appearance.
The new 2012 Peugeot 508 RXH diesel-electric hybrid features a 2.0-liter HDi diesel engine with a 28-kilowatt (38-horsepower) electric motor. The combined horsepower of the diesel-electric hybrid system is about 200 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque. The crossover features an all-wheel drive system with its Hybrid4 technology, which all four wheels are able to turn on demands.
The 2012 Peugeot 508 RXH diesel-electric hybrid can operate in electric mode only as well, though, Peugeot has not revealed the driving range yet. Peugot claims that the 508 RXH consumes less than 4.2 liters of diesel per 100 kilometers in the combined cycle, which is an equivalent to 56 miles per gallon U.S.
The 2012 Peugeot 508 RXH diesel-electric hybrid will go on sale in spring of 2012 after the debut at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show.
