Not many of us heard about the Toyota Hilux pickup in the U.S., but it has been around quite along time now in other parts of the world like Africa and Antarctica. Toyota has just announced the latest version of the new 2012 Toyota Hilux pickup, which receives an all-new front end and comes equipped with a range of new high-tech features.
To celebrate the 2012 Toyota Hilux pickup truck for its proven ruggedness and reliability, Toyota gives the 2012 Toyota Hilux pickup truck a makeover along with a whole lot of practical features. While isn’t an all-new model, but there are a few changes worth mentioning for this year’s model. Noticeably is a new front fascia, which includes new headlights, bumper, hood, and three-bar grille. In addition, it receives new rear bumper along with mirrors and a new set of alloy wheels.
The interior of the 2012 Toyota Hilux pickup has also been given a bit of a new look; the changes are mostly minor. There’s a new upper dashboard piece and Toyota’s Touch multimedia display system with rear camera, USB port and Bluetooth.
Under the hood, the 2012 Toyota Hilux pickup is powered by either a 2.5 D-4D or 3.0 D-4D diesel engines. The 2.5 D-4D gets a new variable nozzle turbo to boost power to 144 horsepower and 253 pound-feet of torque. The 2012 Toyota Hilux comes standard with a 5-speed manual gearbox, while an optional 5-speed automatic transmission is offered 3.0 D-4D diesel engine.
The 2012 Toyota Hilux pickup is available in three bodystyles along with two- or four-wheel drive. It is manufactured at Toyota Motor Thailand and Toyota South Africa Motors plants, which the 2012 Toyota Hilux pickup will be distributed world-wide to about 135 countries.
