2011 McLaren MP4-12C last minute adjustments before deliveries

McLaren strives to make its MP4-12C supercar perfect before launching it to the market. Even though it received with high praises from the car enthusiast community since its debut, McLaren still have some quirks of its own to iron out on this fast beast on wheels.

During performance test at Fifth Gear, the McLaren MP4-12C came in behind the Ferrari 458 Italia. McLaren is not very happy at all, and it plans to top out its rivalry before making deliveries to waiting customers. And according to McLaren spokesman, these revisions include a sweeter exhaust note and improvement in throttle response.

“It was a bit too sensible before” admitted the spokesman. “You won’t notice the changes in normal mode, just when you’re really having fun and pushing it. They don’t lead to any performance increase, but they do lead to an emotional increase when you drive the car.”

In addition, the spokesman says that these improvements are made “because of McLaren’s F1 mentality to up the pace of development.” Whatever the reason is, it is good to know that McLaren able to admit some areas needed for improvement and went ahead to correct it. And that is just to show how McLaren is committed to its brand and customers.

According to Fifth Gear, even though the McLaren MP4-12C is a fast car, it doesn’t have the emotion and the handling of the Ferrari 458 Italia. In other words, it doesn’t connect with the driver, which one could translate that it is not safe at high speed. But similar to Top Gear videos, they are rigged to make the show more exciting to watch, so you need to take it with a grain of salt. Check out the video from Fifth Gear below.
