2012 Cadillac SRX starts at $36,060 with new 3.6-Liter V6 engine

General Motors is releasing the latest Cadillac SRX crossover for 2012. There have been numerous modifications of the Cadillac SRX crossover, but this latest iteration sports a much more refined engine with performance and with fuel efficiency improvements.

The 2012 Cadillac SRX is now equipped with a brand 3.6-liter V6 engine producing 308 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque, roughly 17 percent improvements in the power and torque bands. The new 3.6-liter engine is code named as the ” LFX”, which is capable of running on E85 ethanol fuel. The engine is mated to an electronically controlled 6-speed automatic transmission. The 2012 Cadillac SRX is available in a front-wheel drive only and and all-wheel drive systems. Though, the four-wheel drive system comes with a limited slip differential to help with the traction.

There have been complaints about  the previous generation Cadillac SRX crossover’s ride as been harsh. So, Cadillac has revised the Base and Sport suspension systems to be more softer along with sound-absorbing material.

Other upgrades and optional equipment for the 2012 Cadillac SRX include Bluetooth technology on all trims, an optional heated steering wheel, an optional xenon Blue Metallic exterior paint, an optional all-ebony interior with contrasting stitching, and an optional set of newly designed 20-inch alloy wheel.

The 2012 Cadillac SRX crossover goes on sale in August with a starting price of $36,060 including $875 destination charge for the Base front-wheel drive model.
