Chrysler has just announced the recall over 300,000 Chrysler minivans that could have potential spontaneously deployment of airbags due to a potential shortcut of the occupant restraint control module, which can cause by a condensation leaking from the HVAC systems. As a result, this can cause the airbag to accidentally deploy.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the affected vehicles are the 2008 Chrysler Grand Voyager, Town and Country and Dodge Grand Caravan models, which specifically were manufactured between June 24, 2007 and July 30, 2008. NHTSA has issued a warning statement that an accidental airbag deployment could cause occupant injury or lead to a serious accident.

Chrysler dealers will replace the restraint control module free of charge. Owners of affected vehicles can contact Chrysler at 1-800-853-1403 for more details.
