Nissan Micra DIG-S supercharged available in U.K. starting at £11,500

The new Nissan Micra DIG-S  is now available in the U.K. with a starting price tag of £11,500.  It is current available for ordering with first deliveries on September 1st.

The Nissan Micra DIG-S was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March. The compact car is powered by a 1.2-liter three-cylinder supercharged gasoline engine producing 98 horsepower. Now that power doesn’t sound much, but it is ample power for this subcompact car, much like the VW Golf. The engine is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox or an optional CVT automatic transmission, which adds another £1,000 to the total price tag.

Gas prices are not getting lower anytime soon, and the new Nissan Micra DIG-S provides excellent gas mileage. Nissan claims that the new Micra DIG-S able to churn out about 68.9 mpg UK (57.36 mpg US or 4,09 lt/100 km) and 95 g/km CO2 emissions of the base Visia edition, which uses the same powertrain.

To provide fuel efficiency on the Micra DIG-S, a high compression ratio engine along with direct injection, variable timing control with eco mode, and auto stop-start technology are employed.
