The aluminum V8 engine also features the AMG Cylinder Management system that can shut off four-cylinders from 800 to 3,600 rpm to improve fuel efficiency. Power is shifted through the rear wheels with a 7-speed AMG Speedshift automatic transmission featuring three modes of Sport, Manual and Efficiency.

As for fuel economy, 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLK 55 AMG has a combined fuel consumption of 8.5 lt/100 km, which is 3.5lt or 30% less than the previous model with the 360-hp V8 engine. More power and greater fuel efficiency, you couldn’t ask for more in the new Mercedes-Benz SLK 55 AMG.
For the exterior of the 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLK 55 AMG, it gets a new aero kit along with smoked lights and larger set of light alloy wheels painted in black. And the rest of the exterior looks very much like the standard 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLK roadster. As you move into the interior, it gets a set of sports seats and with leather donned all over.
The AMG package also includes a rear differential, AMG sports steering wheel, stiffer suspension and upgraded brakes. The Mercedes SLK 55 AMG will go live at the beginning of 2012.
