2012 Jeep Wrangler is more fuel efficient with new 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine


Chrysler Jeep is introducing a new facelift 2012 Jeep Wrangler with the more fuel efficient and powerful 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine. The 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited will be available as a two-door and four-door version along with four trims of Sport, Sport S, Sahara and Rubicon.

For the 2012 Jeep Wrangler, it is powered by the new Pentastar V6 engine producing 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, which is about 83 horsepower and 23 lb-ft of torque over the previous 3.8-liter V6 engine. The new engine is mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission, which provides an acceleration from 0-60 mph in about 8.4 seconds. But best of all, fuel economy rating is now at 21 miles per gallon combined. Jeep also makes available of a 6-speed manual gearbox for the 2012 Jeep Wrangler as well.

“Our new 3.6-liter V-6 engine gives the ever-capable Wrangler a completely new, more refined on-road driving experience – complete with more fuel efficiency, power and torque,” commented Mike Manley, President and CEO of the Jeep brand.

The 2012 Jeep Wrangler comes with standard electronic stability control, electronic roll mitigation, Trailer-sway Control, Hill-start Assist and brake traction control are among two dozen available safety and security features. Other technological features in the 2012 Jeep Wrangler include a Uconnect systems, including voice recognition, Bluetooth streaming audio, navigation and SiriusXM Satellite Radio.
