Bentley will be introducing its second-generation 2012 Bentley Continental GTC convertible next month at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The new 2012 Bentley convertible is based on the successful Continental GT Coupe that broke the ice speed record last year.
The new 2012 Bentley Continental GTC convertible represent luxury with a sense power underneath. It is designed with bold lines and aggressive styling while maintaining elegant lines throughout. This four-seater convertible features spacious and luxurious hand-crafted cabin, with soft-touch leather hides, wood veneers, cool-touch metals and deep-pile carpets.
“The GTC has always been the most emotional model in the Continental range and a showcase for Bentley design. With its tailored soft top, the GTC is a pure British convertible true to those classic Bentleys of the past. However, the technology, performance and overall design excellence invested in this model means that we are now writing a new chapter for the Bentley convertible driver.” -Wolfgang Dürheimer, Chairman and Chief Executive, Bentley Motors.
The 2012 Bentley Continental GTC soft-top convertible is powered by a 6.0-liter W12 engine producing 567 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque, and it is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The Continental GTC can accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 4.5 seconds and with a top speed of 195 mph.
Along with a powerful engine, the 2012 Bentley Continental GTC features a wider track, sharper steering and a retuned suspension to provide a more exhilarating drive. In addition, it comes with an advanced all-wheel drive system that features a new 40:60 rear torque bias to minimize understeer during hard cornering. Putting power to the pavement is provided by a set of 20-inch wheels as standard, and 21-inch wheels are available as an option.
Bentley is currently taking orders for the 2012 Bentley Continental GTC, and deliveries are expected to begin by the end of 2011.
