The french automaker, Peugeot, has just released full details on its all-new 508 RXH diesel-electric hybrid crossover, which is the third variant to its mid-size sedan lineup. The new diesel hybrid crossover is elegantly muscular, which prominently shows off its flared wheel arches and a unique front fascia.
The Peugeot 508 RXH diesel-electric hybrid crossover is equipped with hybrid system consists of a 2.0-liter HDi FAP turbo-diesel engine with an electric motor mounted at the rear. The combined power output is around 200 horsepower for this hybrid setup. Peugeot claims that its diesel hybrid crossover has an estimated fuel economy rating of just 4.0 lt/100 km (59 mpg US) and CO2 emissions of 109 g/km.
With the front diesel engine drives its own axle and the rear electric motor drives the rear axle, the Peugeot 508 RXH hybrid crossover is capable of a four-wheel drive. It features four driving modes: Automatic, Sport, 4WD or Zero Emissions when the electric motor is powering the car.
The all-new Peugeot 508 RXH diesel-electric hybrid crossover will make its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, and will be available by spring 2011 in limited production to only 300 units.
