2012 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck gets subtle revisions

General Motors is introducing the new 2012 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck with only a few subtle changes. There will be new body colors and three trims available: LS, LZ, and LTZ.

With the 2012 Chevrolet Silverado LS and LT models, they both come with a new chrome mesh grille on the new front bumper along with body-color or chrome surround. While the LTZ model gets a body-color surround, touring tires, and a chrome tow hook and exhaust tip, Z60 suspension and 20-inch alloy wheels.

All trims of the 2012 Chevrolet Silverado come with trailer sway control and hill-start assist as safety standard equipment, with exception to the Hybrid model. In addition, cruise control and a spare tire lock come as standard equipment as well.

For amenities, the 2012 Chevrolet Silverado gets a new optional hard-drive based navigation radio and a WiFi system.  GM is offering a White Diamond equipment package on LT and LTZ trim trucks to supped up the exterior for a unique truck look.

There are also new four body colors for the 2012 Chevrolet Silverado: Silver Ice Metallic, Mocha Steel Metallic, Carbon Flash Metallic, and Graystone.

As for fuel economy, the new 2012 Chevrolet Silverado offers two V8 engine variants.  A conventional 5.3-liter with a six-speed automatic powertrain delivers an EPA-estimated 22 mpg on the highway.  And the 2012 Silverado Hybrid has an estimated fuel economy ratings of 20 mpg city and 23 mpg highway, and it still provides a 6,100-pound towing capacity.
