2012 Honda Insight Hybrid gets a bit of refinements and MPG improvements

The 2012 Honda Insight Hybrid is set to debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in two weeks from now, and Honda has just revealed a bit of information on this hybrid car.

According to Honda, the 2012 Honda Insight Hybrid will provide greater fuel efficiency along with more aerodynamic work on the front end to help reduce drag. Mechanical improvements include internal friction reduction in the engine moving parts, a revised CVT, and revised air-conditioning system. The result is a 96 g/km of CO2 emissions. This translates to about 57 mpg on the European cycle, which is typical 10 to 20 percent higher than the U.S. cycle.

In U.S. cycle, the 2012 Honda Insight Hybrid will be able to provide at least 46 mpg. In fuel economy comparison, the 2011 model is rated at 40 mpg city and 43 mpg highway.

Along with the fuel consumption improvement, the 2012 Honda Insight Hybrid also receives a fresh exterior design including a new front grille and slimmed tail spoiler. And the interior features have also been enhanced for a better quality as well.
