Hyundai has finally revealed its new i30 hatchback ahead of the upcoming 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. The 2012 Hyundai i30 hatchback is set to take on the compact segment with the likes of Ford Focus and Volkswagen Golf.
Design wise, the 2012 Hyundai i30 hatchback looks similar to the i40 series. The exterior styling follows the ‘fluidic sculpture’ design language along with a distiguishable hexagonal front grille, jewel-like headlamps, a bulging belt line and arching front wheel fenders. And within the interior, it looks similar to the Veloster, which features deep-set gauges and a prominent center console.
“The car has been designed to take on the leading vehicles in the C-segment and join the all-new i40 as a quality benchmark for Hyundai. Our ultimate customer care package, Five Year Triple Care, will be a valuable point of differentiation for the new-generation i30 in its highly competitive class,” said Allan Rushforth, Chief Designer at Hyundai Motor Europe Technical Centre.
Engine offerings for the new i30 hatch is expected to be similar as the i40 series, with a choice of four-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines.
The new 2012 Hyundai i30 model has been developed specifically for the European market, but from experience with Hyundai, we expect it to arrive in the U.S. as well. More details are to be released shortly, so stay tuned.
