Volkswagen plans to make a hybrid version of the Jetta, and the company intends to debut it at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show in January of 2012 before sending it to production.
The release of 2013 Volkswagen Jetta Hybrid to the U.S. market won’t happen until the last quarter of 2012, and the company plans for a sedan version only as for now. The 2013 Volkswagen Jetta Hybrid will be powered by a 1.4-liter TSI turbo four-cylinder engine along with an electric motor. Power for the electric motor will be provided by a lithium-ion battery pack.
So far, Volkwagen hasn’t spilled much info on the 2013 Volkswagen Jetta Hybrid, but based on the Jetta S model with a manual transmission (24 mpg city and 34 mpg highway), we expect it to have at least 42 mpg highway.
That’s all the info that we have on the 2013 Volkswagen Jetta Hybrid for now. We’ll keep you posted as the 2012 Detroit Auto Show is coming to a near.
