After the debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show yesterday, Audi has released a video showing the 2012 Audi S5 Cabrio with its top down while it is cruising down the road.
The 2012 Audi S5 Cabrio shares the same platform, chassis and powertrain as the Coupe and Sportback models. The power output is ranging from the new 1.8-liter TFSI engine producing 170 horsepower to the 3.0-liter TFSI V6 engine producing 333 horsepower.
Here in the U.S., the 2012 Audi S5 Cabrio is offered with only the 333-hp 3.0-liter TFSI V6 engine. The all-aluminum Audi 3.0 liter TFSI V6 engine features a combination of FSI direct injection and supercharging to generate high torque over a wide range. With supercharging power, the V6 engine able to mimic the power and torque of a V8 engine but with the efficiency of a V6. Power is transferred to all wheels with a seven-speed S-tronic dual-clutch transmission featuring shift paddles on the steering wheel.
The 2012 Audi S5 Cabrio starts at $59,300* in the U.S. It also comes with xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights, dual-exhaust with quad tailpipes, power-adjustable, heated Aluminum Optic exterior mirrors with integrated LED turn signals, Bluetooth with mobile phone ready, and 19-inch cast aluminum alloy wheels with performance tires.
