SsangYong has revealed its new SUT-1 pickup truck at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. According to the company, the SUT-1 is in its production form. The last time we saw this pickup truck was at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, and we thought that it looks like a Honda Ridgeline.
Well, this latest production SsangYong SUT-1 (Sport Utility Truck) pickup truck kind of steered away from the Honda Ridgeline’s look a bit. Anyways, the SsangYong SUT-1 is a quad-cab pickup truck, and has seating for five persons. SsangYong aims the SUT-1 pickup truck as both for leisure and light duty work. The SUT-1 offers a luxury cabin with equipment such as power leather heated seats, a sunroof, RDS & Bluetooth audio, rear view camera, hinge sprung tailgate and a trip computer.
Like most SUVs, the SsangYong SUT-1 pickup truck is based on pickup frame. However, to compensate the roughness of a pickup truck, the SsangYong SUT-1 features a double-wishbone front suspension and a five-link rear suspension for a more comfortable ride.
The SsangYong SUT-1 pickup truck will be available in rear or four-wheel drive. It comes with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel engine producing 153 horsepower and 251 lb-ft of torque, and mated to either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission.
The company states that the SsangYong SUT-1 pickup truck is ready for production after the debut.
