BMW releases Power Kits for 135i and 335i models

Just as promised a few months ago, BMW’s North American division is releasing of two performance packages for the 135i Coupe and 335i models.

Both the Power Kits for 135i and 335i models can be retrofitted at BMW centers or via the Port Installation Program. The Version 1 Power Kit will boost the power of the 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six engine to about 20 horsepower more for theĀ 135i and 335i model, and in addition, torque is increase to 332 pound-feet with an automatic transmission) and 317 lb-ft with a manual or DCT transmission.

And for the Version 2 Power Kit, which adds an auxiliary water cooler and a new radiator fan to help reduce thermal stresses under extreme driving condition. The V2PK costs $1,199, which is about $599 more than the Version 1 considering the added hardware. Both kits also include an “exhaust burble sound during engine overrun conditions.”

BMW also mentioned that installation costs are not included in the prices.
