As you may have already known by now that Opel is division of GM in Europe, with that, the company plans to introduce the new 2012 Opel Astra GTC to the U.S. market under the Buick brand.
The new 2012 Opel Astra GTC is a hatchback, and GM clearly wants to have here in the U.S. to compete with the Lexus and Audi hatchbacks.
“I could easily see it as a Buick,” Opel’s top executive, Karl-Friedrich Stracke, said in a briefing at Opel’s Russelsheim headquarters during the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show.
According to the UAW’s newly negotiated contract with GM, it allows a new model to create more than 500 jobs in the U.S.
GM has received 15,000 orders since June, and it plans to deliver the 2012 Opel Astra GTC by the end of this year.
