Ford UK is planning to introduce a more feisty Fiesta version to Fiesta enthusiasts. The new Ford Fiesta Metal edition is packed with more power and a few minor design elements to make the Fiesta looks more sporty.
In the powertrain department, the new Fiesta for the UK market gets a revised 1.6-liter Duratec engine producing 131 horsepower, which is about 12 horsepower more than the standard version found in the U.S. Fiesta. Ford UK claims that the speedy compact Fiesta now can sprint from 0-62 mph in about 8.7 seconds.
In addition to the power upgrade, the UK Fiesta also gets a handling package with one-inch lowering springs, dual chrome exhaust tips, fog light bezels, and 17-inch alloy wheels. In the interior, the UK Fiesta features a piano-black center stack, Ebony black leather sport seats with contrasting stitching.
As for safety features, the new Ford Fiesta Metal comes with standard Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), Home Safe headlights, Electric Power-Assisted Steering (EPAS), Intelligent Protection System (IPS), front, side and knee airbags and anti-lock brakes with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD).
There are about 1,000 units of the Fiesta Limited Metal edition be produced, and it comes in three new colors of Panther Black, Midnight Sky and Frozen White for customers to choose.
