Hyundai is planning to showcase its new performance Veloster turbo at the SEMA show this year. The company has teamed up with ARK Performance company to provide aftermarket parts for the car.
The three-door hatchback Hyundai Veloster is powered by a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine producing 138 horsepower and 123 pound-feet of torque. With ARK Performance’s modification, the Hyundai Veloster is said to develop about 210 horsepower. The extra horsepower gain is due to a new intercooled turbocharger system and a high-flow exhaust system. ARK Performance added a custom twin-scroll turbocharger and set of larger down pipes to vacate the exhaust gas quickly.
In addition to the power upgrade, ARK Performance also worked on the suspension and brake systems along with a wide-body kit and a few interior revisions as well. ARK Performance added six-piston front brakes, coilover suspension system, custom Alcantara interior and a widebody kit with green and grey graphics.
“The Hyundai Veloster is an ideal car for enthusiasts with its distinctive design and dynamic architecture,” said Ted Lee, owner, ARK Performance Inc. “At SEMA, our ARK Performance Veloster will bridge the realm between an affordable sports car and an extreme motor sports vehicle. From the first Tiburon, to the Genesis Coupe, and now with the Veloster, ARK Performance continues to uphold the torch as the pioneer of aftermarket performance manufacturing for Hyundai.”
