TuningWerk boosted BMW 7 Series to 706 hp and 217 mph top speed

While the world of conventional cars is trying to reduce fuel consumption, the tuning world on the other hand is trying to boost horsepower into the insanity realm. Take TuningWerk of Germany for example, the tuning company took a normal BMW 7 Series cruiser and boosted its power output into the heart attack zone.

With a few modifications to the 4.4-liter bi-turbo engine, TuningWerk turned the BMW 7 Series into a beast underneath the hood. The modifications include new intercooler, bigger turbos, new high-flow exhaust system, and remapped of the ECU to result in a total of 706 horsepower and 803 pound-feet of torque for the BMW 7 Series RS version.

TuningWerk claims the modified BMW 7 Series RS version can accelerate from 0-62 mph in just 3.5 seconds and with a top speed of 217 mph. The modified BMW 7 Series also comes with either a heavy duty 5-speed or 6-speed automatic transmission.

Of course if that is too much power and dough (€198,000 ~ $274,982 U.S.) for you to handle, there is also a lighter version called the BMW 7 Series GT, which produces 530 hp and 546 lb-ft.
